Messenger 8.1share: facebook PLURK twitter
The recent Internet craze is that people add the “i’m” icon next to the MSN name.
This turns out to be Microsoft’s new plan. According to Microsoft’s website, if you are using Windows Live Messenger Version 8.1 or later, as long as you add a specific code next to the display name, every time MSN calls the other party, Microsoft will donate part of the advertising revenue to the designated charity, and there is no upper limit on the amount.
Current beneficiary groups include
The American Red Cross, International Children’s Refugee Aid, the Agency for Preventing the Worsening of the Global Greenhouse Effect, the World Wildlife Fund, and global organizations fighting poverty and AIDS.
Friends on the Internet turned out to be enthusiastic people and spread the news one after another. But in fact, we in Hong Kong, no matter how many “i’m” we add next to our names or how many times we chat with friends on MSN, it still doesn’t matter. Microsoft will not donate a penny. Why? Because this plan currently only counts users within the continental United States.
In fact, in the participatio Morocco Phone Number List section of the “i’m” website, as long as you fill in a place outside the United States in the “Where do you live?” field, the following message will be displayed:
At this time the im initiative
is available only in the Morocco Phone Number List United States. You’re still welcome to download Windows Live™ Messenger; however, you will not be able to participate in the i’m initiative yet. Thank you for your interest”
and another from According to reports in Taiwan, Taiwan Microsoft MSN Marketing Manager Chung Wanzhen said:
Users of MSN version 8.1 only need to add the “IM” icon in front of the display name. Assuming that the person you are calling is a user registered in the United States, the number of calls can be accumulated. Donate.
